Dutch MC, Risskant de Woordvoerder (the Word Feeder or Spokesperson), is one of the more celebrated rappers in his country. He has won both the Audience Prize and was also awarded the Grand Prize of South Holland in the “Urban” category in 2007.

In addition to the awards, highlights for Riss include performances on the biggest stages in The Netherlands, including 013, Melkweg, Effenaar, Nightown, as well as festivals like Metropolis, Wantijpop, Eigen Bodem, Breda Barst, Big Rivers and Parkpop.

The young Dordrechter has done opening programs for KRS-One & Supanatural, La Coka Nostra, Delinquent Habits, The Opposites (NL), Opgezwolle (NL), Black Moon, Immortal Technique and Aesop Rock.

Risskant always stays busy. He began his fourth album just one month after releasing his 3rd solo in Jan of 2009. This new project was a unique, bilingual, international cooperation between Canada and the Netherlands with Anonymouz, created during his tours of the Netherlands. Featuring some of the top producers in the country, the project received much attention and was also instrumental in helping Riss to branch out overseas.

Riss’s latest release is a collaboration project with king producer, Sensei Walingh, who has worked with artists such as DJ Premier, House of Rapz, Canibus, Punchline, and more. The Boom Bap EP is based around a style of music that was popular during the Golden Era of hip-hop and is classical, clean and bangin! The EP is available for FREE download at www.risskant.nl.
